    Counseling for Anxiety

There is a lot to be anxious about in our world these days. From sociopolitical issues all the way to our day-to-day, anxiety can slowly creep up on us… or jump scare us. The human brain is capable of imagining so many wonderful ideas for the future, and it can also circle around never ending “worst case scenarios.”

Is anxiety taking over your life? Have you done everything to “control” it or avoid it but haven’t tried befriending it or getting to know it?

If this sounds like you, I invite you to join me on a journey of getting to know your Anxiety, your family system, and your present circumstance contributing to these feelings.

Often, these are the symptoms of anxiety:

    • Nervousness, restlessness, or being tense
    • Feelings of danger, panic, or dread
    • Rapid breathing or hyperventilation
    • Increased or heavy sweating
    • Trembling or muscle twitching
    • Weakness or lethargy
    • Difficulty focusing or thinking clearly about anything other than the thing you’re worried about
    • Insomnia
    • Obsessions about certain ideas
    • Anxiety surrounding a particular life event or experience that has occurred in the past

Therapy can help to uncover the underlying causes of your worries and fears, learn how to relax, look at situations in a new, less frightening way, and develop better coping mechanisms and problem-solving skills. Therapy can also normalize that anxiety helps us survive when it’s managed well.
