    Rates & Insurance

    Rates

Due to the small size of the practice, I do not directly accept insurance. Palmetto Therapy Connections is a fee-for-service practice. I am happy to provide a receipt if you wish to submit it to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

Therapy is undoubtedly an investment toward your well-being, and your commitment is valued. I take my role in this process seriously and hold myself to the highest standards of care as we work together. I keep updated on the latest research, treatments, and laws in my profession to provide you the best services possible, in addition to attending conferences, working in academia, and publishing articles.

I also believe in transparency, so you will find my rates right here on my website.

    55-minute individual session: $125

55-minute couples or family session: $150

    Why don’t you take Insurance?

    1. Your information is not always confidential with insurance.

Offering private pay sessions means your information is better protected. Insurance companies often share your personal information with third parties, technology companies, and even your workplace. It is also possible that future jobs can acquire this information. We disagree with these policies and believe that therapy requires safety and confidentiality to be effective. We also don’t believe your treatment should be dictated by anyone who is not a trained therapist. You and your therapist should make decisions for your care, not a third party.

    2. The insurance company decides your treatment.

Insurance companies decide how many sessions you can have and how often you can attend therapy. Even if you and your therapist determine it would be beneficial to continue services, your insurance company might deny you. At Palmetto Therapy Connections, we believe this is disempowering to clients. You should make decisions about your treatment, with the support of your therapist.

    3. You have to receive a mental health diagnosis.

Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis. While this can be true of your situation, it is not true of everyone’s situation. There are plenty of people who seek therapy and do not meet the DSM5 criteria for a diagnosis. If you do meet the criteria for a diagnosis, I can provide a superbill that you can submit for reimbursement. Please call your insurance first and ask what percentage would be reimbursed.

If paying out-of-pocket at this time does not work for you, that is okay! I encourage you to call your insurance for a list of in-network providers. You can also check the “Resources” tab on our website for other helpful links.

    Payment

I am a fee-for-service practice and accept all major credit cards as forms of payment.

    Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you will be charged a late cancellation/no-show fee.
